Public Art in Private Development

Private developers across America are discovering that including public art in their projects makes good business sense.

Artwork that is accessible to the public can become a highly visible landmark that helps buildings stand out from other developments in the city. Public Art is a unique amenity that helps attract business, retain tenants and create community trust.

The City of Germantown encourages all developers to consider the benefits of including Public Art. Projects that are zoned in the Urban Center (T5) and Urban Core (T6) are required to include public art in their projects per the Germantown Smart Code.
